community developmentWelcome to the City of Loma Linda’s Community Development Department! The Community Development Department is located adjacent to the lobby of Loma Linda’s beautiful City Hall. 

The Department is comprised of the Planning Division and the Building and Safety Division. Staff members from the Planning Division and Building & Safety Division are available to take your questions at the counter, by telephone, or through e-mail.

Planning Division - Planners implement the Loma Linda Municipal Code and the City’s General Plan. This ensures that new development is attractive, compatible with its surroundings, and meets the standards of our community’s vision for the future.

Building & Safety Division – Building staff implements the Uniform Building Code and other applicable rules and guidelines. This ensures the proper construction of buildings within Loma Linda, protects the public’s health and safety, and protects and improves property values by enforcing standards for high-quality construction.

Regular business hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.*, Monday through Thursday. City Hall is not open on Friday. 

Please note, however, that the Building & Safety Division staff is available at the public counter ONLY between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Questions for the building inspectors should be made between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Building permits are only issued during these hours.
