Building and Safety

WorkerThe Building and Safety Division regulates construction and occupancy of all residential, commercial, and industrial buildings in order to ensure the public’s health and safety. Prior to issuance of building permits, the division performs plan check of all proposed construction projects, including additions and alterations to existing buildings. Field inspections are performed on all new construction, additions, structural alterations, and demolitions for compliance with all structural, fire, safety, health, and safety requirements. The responsibilities of the division also include providing the public with basic construction information, calculating fees, and issuing building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, grading, and demolition permits.

General Information
  • The Building Inspector is available at the public counter and via telephone only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
  • If you would like to submit electronically, please start this process by emailing your application and plans to David Cook at [email protected].
  • Permits may be issued only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Inspection requests may be phoned in to (909) 799-2837, 24 hours a day with a touchtone phone.
  • Inspection requests received by 5:00 p.m. will be performed the following day between 11:00am-1:00pm.
